NotePin S remains the safer buy today for someone who wants a compact wearable recorder that is already shipping. The original NotePin can still make sense at a meaningful discount. Plaud One is the product to watch if you want earbuds, calls, meetings and agent-style workflows in one device—but it remains a limited Explorer Edition preorder, so AI Gear Hub is not treating it as a proven recommendation yet.

The practical difference is control: NotePin S adds a physical record button and on-device highlighting while keeping the same general wearable format and similar core recording specifications.
Plaud One moves the idea from a pin into true-wireless earbuds and a recording case. Plaud lists three MEMS microphones plus a VPU in each earbud, four MEMS microphones with AI beamforming in the case, adaptive ANC up to 40 dB and recording support for in-person conversations, phone calls and online meetings.
The more important change is workflow ambition. Plaud says Plaud Agent can turn conversation context into notes, summaries, follow-ups and documents, with connected-tool actions where available. Availability of agent features, integrations and language support can vary by region and software version, so those future-facing capabilities should not be treated as guaranteed at launch.

On September 2, Plaud said its first U.S. pre-sale allocation had sold out within one day of the August 27 launch. That signals interest, but sell-through is not evidence of product quality, transcription accuracy or long-term value.

Plaud advertises transcription and summaries in more than 112 languages, but accuracy varies with noise, speaker volume, language, accent and device position.
Buy NotePin S if you need a Plaud wearable now and value simple physical controls. Buy the older NotePin only when the discount is worthwhile. Wait on Plaud One unless you specifically want to participate in an early Explorer release; its combination of earbuds, standalone recording and agent workflows is genuinely interesting, but shipping, software maturity and ongoing credit costs still need real-world validation.
