Plaud Note: an AI recorder with reported sales, but check the ongoing cost
Plaud says its original Plaud Note has passed $10 million in sales. That is a company-reported product figure, not a guarantee that it will work for you. We have not physically tested this device.

Plaud Note is a slim recorder for in-person meetings and, when supported, phone-call workflows. The app can turn recorded audio into transcripts, summaries and action items. Accuracy varies with noise, speech and language. Check the current official product specifications before relying on any feature.
Best fit
People who attend many meetings and will review notes against the audio. It is a weaker fit for anyone who cannot record with proper consent, needs completely offline transcription, or does not want an ongoing plan.
Three checks before buying
- Consent: get permission where required before recording a conversation.
- Plan: compare included minutes with your real monthly recording volume and check additional costs.
- Workflow: confirm that your phone and meeting setup are supported; a transcription is a draft until checked against the recording.
From a missed detail to a useful action list
The situation: A meeting ends, and nobody is certain who promised the next step. Plaud Note may help you capture the conversation with permission, then review a transcript and summary. It is not a substitute for consent or checking the generated text. This is an example workflow, not a hands-on test.
Set up and first recording
- Charge the device, install the official Plaud App, sign in, and bind Plaud Note in the app.
- Ask for recording consent where required. Choose the correct slider mode: down for an in-person note, up for a phone call.
- Long-press Record for about one second to start; one vibration confirms it. Long-press again to stop; two vibrations confirm it.
- Connect to the app to transfer the file, generate a transcript or summary, and check names and decisions against the audio before sharing action items.

How to use it responsibly
Tell participants what you intend to record. Follow Plaud's official pairing instructions, make a short test, review the transcript for mistakes, then turn useful points into an action list. Follow your organisation's data policy for storage and deletion. Do not record private conversations without the required consent.
